On November 8th, the Miami Herald published an op-ed article about “anti-abortion clinics.” They described places where women are shamed, lied to, forced to undergo biased counseling and religious seminars, and given inaccurate medical advice.
This article was fueled by outrage over the fact that a bill has been introduced in the Florida Legislature (HB 41) to fund pregnancy medical clinics and pregnancy resource centers with taxpayer dollars.
I, too, am outraged that any organization would shame women, lie to them, force them to hear/do/say anything, or give inaccurate advice of any kind! And I acknowledge that organizations like the article describes may exist.
But I also know that hundreds of legitimate pregnancy medical clinics and pregnancy resource centers are at work every day in Florida serving women with care and compassion! I am proud to be associated with Hope Women’s Centers – an organization that values integrity and transparency in everything we do, striving for excellence in every area of service, and meeting the needs of our patients.
Our Core Values are indicative of the way we serve our patients and respect them – but the best evidence for the way we do what we do, is to let the patients speak on our behalf! You can read/hear their stories, or check out these Google Reviews for Our Davie Center, North Lauderdale, and Fort Lauderdale Center online or below!
I am proud of Representative Jackie Toledo R-Tampa for bringing this bill to the Florida House. In my opinion, helping pregnant women by promoting and supporting child birth is a worthy cause!
