He was a full-grown man but stood on a table at approximately three feet high. He was not a midget. His growth was not stunted. He was simply born without limbs. His name? Nick Vujicic.
As he spoke a few weeks ago at a local church, he said,
I’ve met girls who were sold into slavery. They prayed for the miracle of freedom, but never received it. Eventually they were able to pay off their debt and be free. Instead of running off to enjoy their freedom, they turned around and raised money for another girl’s rescue. In addition to that, they washed their former pimp’s feet before they set their friend free. You see when you don’t get your miracle sometimes God uses you to be a miracle for someone else. When you don’t get your miracle sometimes God uses you to be a miracle for someone else.
It’s a hard pill to swallow when you don’t receive the miracle you so desperately wanted and oftentimes feel you absolutely needed. But once you begin to move through the disappointment, you can see how God sometimes arranges divine appointments.
Isn’t it interesting how many times God uses your pain to help others through theirs? There are several women on staff at Hope Women’s Centers that did not get to meet their miracle (their baby). But that has not deterred them from helping other women see and meet their miracle.
As write this, I am reminded of when Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane.
“And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, ‘My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.’” Matthew 26:39.
Jesus didn’t receive His miracle of rescue, but He became the miraculous rescue for us.
So, next time you’re struggling with not getting your miracle, remember, you might be the miracle for someone down the road who’s in desperate need of one.
“When we do the best we can, we never know what miracle is wrought in our life, or in the life of another.” – Helen Keller
“God made you a miracle to be someone else’s miracle. Someone out there is waiting on you to make even a small impact on their life, even an encouraging word.” -Eston Swaby
