Lakeisha arrived at Hope only to find out what she feared: her pregnancy test came back positive.
With the access to low-cost pregnancy tests available at local stores nowadays, our patients don’t come to us looking for pregnancy tests, they most often come looking for a negative test.
Lakeisha said she was, “scared and didn’t want to carry the pregnancy to term.” One of our client advocates listened as she shared the pressures she felt due to her age and finances.
But, after spending time with one of her client advocates, Lakeisha shared,
She was telling me everything would and will be okay. She prayed for me and a weight was lifted off my shoulders.
Lakeisha said she found the courage to decide to carry the baby to term because she knows, “with God, everything will be okay.”
Lakeisha recently earned a car seat for her baby by completing a two-session nutrition class that Hope offers to pregnant patients. The car seats are provided by the Children’s Aid Club of Plantation and donations from our friends at hope who have and are giving to this program. Praise God for His tender love for Lakeisha, her baby, and all of us!
The grant that we have will not last indefinitely. We are looking for additional partnerships. Would you prayerfully consider donating $75 for a new car seat to help a mom/dad that chose life for their unborn child?
Thank you Friends of Hope that have already given towards the cost of car seats. It is a tangible need that when provided, brings a lot of encouragement to our patients.
