5 Years Later – A Patient’s Update

Updated: Apr 21, 2023

Over five years ago, a beautiful young couple named Samantha and Alexander (pictured below) walked into the doors of one of our medical centers with an important decision to make.

Not sure what to do having recently discovered they were pregnant, they sat with one of our counselors. Hear their original story: HERE.

Since coming to Hope as a patient, Alexander has worked tirelessly developing his recording career and has worked to help other women and men in similar situations. In his song “Benefits of Love,” Alexander wrote the song about discovering an unconditional love for someone. “The video highlights my using that love for hands-on fatherhood.”

We recently caught up with Alexander and he shared with us this update. We hope you see in his responses how your involvement as a Partner of Hope can directly help to encourage women AND men that come to Hope – for years to come!

Alexander, we know Hope Women’s Centers has been influential in your and Samantha’s lives. What would you have thought if we were able to have offered you a male counselor to speak with when you first came to Hope?

From an expecting father’s perspective – having a male counselor would certainly have given a layer of emotional padding to the situation. The women and men who come to Hope are certainly well taken care of; however, having only female counselors tends to limit the men’s emotional connection to the center itself. By that I mean it would have been nice if there were a gentleman there to speak with who had previously been in my shoes before, to give me wisdom from his experience.

How may a male counselor have provided additional support to you?

It’s important for men who are going through life changes to be able to speak with other men to whom they can relate. The guy code works wonders for reaching men who would otherwise be locked off from outside input.

Since your experience at Hope, is there any update you want to share with us?

Our family is doing well. Samantha is incredibly smart and increasingly beautiful, pursuing her goals as a real estate agent and entrepreneur. My recording career continues to blossom with new releases, collaborations and shows. I recently returned from a concert tour in Canada and the United Kingdom. Samantha and I still love one another and work together every day to give Zion the best chance at life that we can provide.

What’s the update with Zion?

Zion (pictured above) is incredible!! He’s five years old and in kindergarten now, yet reading on a 3rd grade level :).

He is kind and thoughtful towards people, and he lives with love. He has such incredible energy and he loves to play.

We love our patients and were are so thankful to receive this update from Alexander.

This Valentine’s Day, would you commit to a $30/month pledge. We want to continue to serve couples like Alexander and Samantha who came to our centers at a critical time, needing to make difficult decisions –  the difference of life or death for their unborn children.

MEN: you heard it from Alexander. Male counselors are a vital part of what we do at Hope and research tells us the male voice is vital in the decision of whether life will be chosen for the unborn child or not, and is also vital in the healthy development of a child.

This year we started a new initiative called “Men of Hope,” where men meet with the boyfriends that come into our centers and help encourage and support them. We are in need of more men to volunteer in our centers as we currently do not have enough male counselors to support our three centers. You do not have to be previously trained, if you feel called – we will train you. If you are interested and/or want to know more, please contact me by emailing us or calling 954-372-7089.

Join us and help us continue to invest in the women and men that walk through our doors at Hope Women’s Centers.
